Our
Story
Little Miss Safiya, named after their firstborn, began on the Christmas holiday of the year 2014 when we were looking for “pasalubong” (Philippines local products) to give to our relatives locally and abroad. We wanted something that was locally made, tastefully pleasing, and visually appealing to our family and friends. Our brand then under “Little Miss Safiya’s Bakehouse” initially included baked goods and pastries as well as our staple products namely the Dried Yellow Mango in Dark Chocolate and Crisped Rice in Dark Chocolate.
Eventually, the holiday racket turned into a yearly holiday business that offered the products only in the “Ber” months of the year.
At the end of the pandemic, we saw the wasted potential of the tourism industry and wanted to help push the local tourism market by catering to local and international tourists and showcasing what our country has to offer. The bake house eventually turned to “pasalubong” products as the main products of the brand. The company, registered in the early months of the year 2023 is now ready to share our products with the world!
2. Do you practice social responsibility efforts in your company? Please elaborate.
We take pride to the next level, continually striving to go above and beyond in order to share our commitment to our customers, suppliers, and our country with all that we do.
· 100% LOCALLY PRODUCED
Our efforts to keep our products 100% local include supporting small time farmers by sourcing our raw materials through several local fruit farms and small packaging business owners (ex. Stickers and label suppliers, Packaging materials, in house equipments).
The company believes that supporting local not only ends in purchasing local raw materials but also support our tourism industry by pushing our local product market and entice diversity in the country’s range of product lines available in the market.
· SUSTAINABILITY
o ENVIRONMENTALLY AWARE
With our efforts to keep our production within the heart of Manila, we are contributing to less carbon footprint by cutting off fuel consumption, reducing transportation expenses and maintaining minimal electricity consumptions through using energy efficient machinery and equipment.
We have teamed up with Green Antz Builders in the proper disposal of our plastic wastes through drop off at the nearest designated drop off points. These plastics are then used to create waste resources like Eco Bricks and Eco pavers.
· WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
OUR PRODUCTION AND OPERATIONAL STAFF ARE MOSTLY WOMEN.
Having women in the workplace have an immense impact on our business. They bring diversity and a unique perspective to the table. We believe in empowering women and educating them to strengthen their literacy, awareness, and leadership skills. By doing so, we can see a positive impact on our products as they are tailored to meet the needs and wants of the majority consumers. As we continue to incorporate diversity, we are confident in the initiatives that our women leaders will contribute.
